Where are we today with Perthmore developments?
Perthmore Enterprises Ltd. (the current version of Perthmore Development that has been run by the Decaria family since 1987) took the Town of Perth before the Ontario Land Tribunal and won at settlement between it, the Town of Perth and Lanark County in December 2024. This settlement cleared the way for the long planned Phase 6 work to begin in the area behind Senators Gate and Perthmore Street. Temporary work roads were constructed, services installed and the first foundations of up to 94 units were begun as can be seen in the photos to the side.
But Perthmore Enterprises is not alone
There are two other developers who plan to develop what had been a forested section of land between Harris Street and Isabella and between the railway track and the back yards of houses on the west side of Garden Avenue between Isabella and Harris. One developer plans to build some apartment buildings in the land behind the existing small lane leading past the existing one storey apartment building. Work has not yet started on clearing the trees.
The other developer has clear cut all the trees that were at the end of Harris Street where it meets the railway track level crossing on Drummond. It is thought that an apartment building or stacked townhouses will be built here. In the meantime the photos show what awaits further development.
